At that time, Sayed Balaha simultaneously wrote his CD Hamada and cooperated with Hosam Shaker on his next production: "Rahala". Once again Sayed Balaha proves his masterly knowledge on the tabla, darbuka, dohala, sagat and the rig. The mixture of Arabian music with Spanish-Andalusian influences makes this CD to a new classic, which shall not be missed in any Sayed Balaha Collection.
Hosam Shaker studied music already at the age of fourteen at the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Cairo and obtained his master degree in 1989. He was leading the “Arabic Sextett” at the Cairo Oper performing on major festivals in Japan, Korea and Europe. He was a member of the Worldmusic Groupe “Shakiat” and played with Roman Bunka’s “Color me Cairo” on the Berlin Jazz Festival. He is honored to be one of the best musicans in the middle East and is currently running the Egyptian institut for folk instruments and heritage.
