Cairophon is a label and record company established in Cairo in the late 1930s / early 1940s. The company emerged from the Egyptian branch of Baidaphon. Mohamed Abdel Wahab owned shares in this Egyptian branch which was renamed Cairophon. The new company was under the artistic direction and partial ownership of Mohamed Abdel Wahab, but some lebanese ownership was retained.

During the 1940s and 50s Cairophon was the largest locally owned record company in Egypt. Cairophon did not have an own record pressing plant and all its recordings were sent abroad for pressing.
